Week 21 – VANE

ship-2275399_960_720Vane is a metal band, started in 2016 by two friends – Mateusz Gajdzik (Witchking, Saratan, Crystal Viper) and Robert Zembrzycki (Acid Drinkers, Corruption, and Saratan)The two guitarists soon recruited Marcin Frackowiak (Percival Schuttenbach, Stos, River of Time) for the bass guitar duties, and the trio focused on finding a suiting vocalist to match their visionMarcin Parandyk (Killsorrow, Razortype)  was one of their first choices, and approached by Robert, he agreed to give it a try.  Marcin Zdeb (Razortype, Unlumination, Arondight) soon followed his bandmates steps and decided to join Vane.

The quintet started intensive work on the concept of the album, aw well as compositions for the album.  Led by Mateusz Gajdzik, they kept reworking, rearranging and polishing their songs, while Zembrzycki and Parandyk forcused on the storytelling in the lyrics.

Vane’s music is mix of death metal and catchy melodies, all spiced up with a story rooted deeply in actual history of The Golden Age of Piracy.

In just 1 year since its inception, Vane released a promo called “The Prologue”, consisting of 3 songs that are planned to be part of a concept album, “Black Vengeance”.

In May 2018 Marcin Frackowiak left the band and was replaced by Lukasz Lukasik (Netherfell).  The reinforced crew pushed on, and in Spring 2018 the band entered Impressive Art Studio, helmed by Przemyslaw Nowak.  The recording and production took the whole summer, and the album is scheduled for late autumn release, November 30, 2018.

Let’s meet the Band of Pirates that make up VANE

Rise to Power

This video was the first I had seen of Vane, and that’s all I needed, I was hooked. The under water parts where excellent and so different than anything else I had ever seen before.

As for the pirate topic – our very own Robert has always been keen on sailing and marine adventure, both in life and in books/movies. And when it comes to the sea, there is nothing more metal then pirates! So when forming a band with Mateusz, they both agreed on tackling the topic of this scourge of the seas and trying to write their own dark story in the reality of the golden age of piracy.”

Vane is trying to get to Bloodstock Festival, and is asking if you have a Facebook Account to leave a like next to their pic Facebook.com/bloodstockmetal2.

Death’s Season

The thing I like best about the band of course is the growl vocals.  Marcin’s voice is very powerful and how he keeps it up through out the whole song, while allowing you to hear every word amazes me.  Growl vocals are so hard to maintain for a long period of time, but from start to finish he keeps it going, never missing a beat.  Of course it helps  when you have a great band backing you up.

There are a lot of videos and a series of Behind the Music videos  on Utube.  They are well worth checking out.  I hope they do make it to Bloodstock, and I wish them much success.  Vane is one of those unique bands that has the vocals and music to take them as far as the wind in their sails will go….

That’s it for this my Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song, till then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..
