My HeadBangers welcome from Utrecht, The Netherlands the melodic thrash band:
“Trenches of Blood”
Well my HeadBangers sign me up for more melodic thrash, I’m loving this.
Let’s take a look at their bio, straight from their press kit:
The Dutch melodic thrash outfit Disquiet was restablished in Utrecht 2008. The three track promo ‘Hate Incarnate’ (2008) indicates this fresh start: ‘Ten minutes of this intense music is never enough. The great sound and heavy production makes us hungry for more’.
Disquiet combines Bay Area oriented thrash metal mixed with melodic European elements. Imagine a mix of Testament with Arch Enemy, moderated with some modern metalcore influences.
January 2012, the band launches its first full-length album ‘Scars Of Undying Grief’. A product of perseverance with an in-your-face product on by Tommie Bonajo, demonstrates Disquiet’s approach to modern metal. ‘Disquiet’s debut album is better than many of the established order’ (Aardschok Magazine). ‘Disquiet has it’s own sound, packaged in great art-work’ (Rock Tribune), Thrash-tipp des monats’ (Metal Hammer).
Koen Romeijn (Detonation/Apophys/Heidevolk) joined the band in 2012 and Disquiet thrashed many (inter) national stages that year. Among these was Wacken Open Air, with 80.000 visitors one of the biggest metal festivals in the world. In 2013 shows in Germany and as one of the first Dutch metal bands in Suriname (South America), were added to that list. In 2014 this story continued with international shows in Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany (sharing the stage with Arch Enemy and Annihilator).
In 2015 Koen was replaced by Frank van Boven and the band started recording their new album ‘The Condemnation’ which was released worldwide january 2016 on Soulseller Records (Gorgoroth a.o.). ‘Melodic thrash meets death metal! The perfect soundtrack for every metal party!’ (Metal Hammer). ‘Unique and modern sound; a thrash album hard to beat this year’ (Rocktribune) and ‘10x Eremetaal (Aardschok). With a UK tour (2016) and support acts for Destruction, Death Angel and Flotsam and Jetsam, this thrash machine marches on. In 2017 Disquiet started writing new material for their upcoming album.

Well my HeadBangers there is nothing more that I love then melodic death metal. Now add in some Thrash, well hell I’m a convert. For those of you that don’t know:
Thrash metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo. The songs usually use fast percussive beats and low-register guitar riffs, overlaid with shredding-style lead guitar work.
Melodic death metal is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal. The style originated and developed in Sweden and the United Kingdom around 1993.
There you have it guys, for those who didn’t know. We all have our favorite type of metal. Melodic Death, Folk, and Thrash are mine. Melodic Death and Thrash, it really gets the blood flowing. Mixing the 2 makes you feel it down in your bones, and all you want is more. No matter where I look on this planet, I am always find bands that amaze me and offer something different. That’s “Disquiet”, I am looking forward to some new music from them and to see them live at a gig it would be just amazing. Keep it up guys, you have one convert and I’m bring some HeadBangers with me. Looking forward to hearing more…..
That’s it for this week my HeadBangers. Join me next week for another band and and another song. In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..
