My HeadBangers please welcome from Pisa, Tuscany the Power/Folk Metal Band:
“Together We Rise”
“Gates Of Ekrund”
This is my favorite so far… Listen to that…
Ok let’s look at some bio on this band…
Wind Rose is an Italian power metal band founded in 2009 in Pisa, Tuscany. The band has released four studio albums, most recently Wintersaga in September 2019. Their sound is heavy metal but can also be described using the sub-genres power metal and folk metal with orchestration and vocal harmonies. Their lyrics take inspiration in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and their aesthetic is based on Tolkien’s Dwarves.
In March 2010, a few months after their formation, Wind Rose released an EP called “Demo 2010” which was produced by Cristiano Bertocchi. On 28 August 2012 Wind Rose released their first full-length ‘Shadows Over Lothadruin’ via Bakerteam Records.
In 2013/2014 they performed a number of promotional live shows in Europe directly supporting Wintersun, Finntroll, and Epica. Cristiano Bertocchi joined the band as bass player during 2014 before the band went to the studio to record the second full-length album.
In February 2015, they took part in Eluveitie’s Origins European tour and their second studio album Wardens of the West Wind was released by Scarlet Records. In October they also played as support for Ensiferum’s Spanish shows during their One Man Army European tour. After these shows, Wind Rose dedicated the entire year 2016 to writing new material. In 2017, the band signed a deal with Inner Wound Recordings for their third album Stonehymn. It was released in May. The first video to be released was “The Wolves’ Call” followed by “To Erebor” which gave more popularity to the band, reaching millions of contacts on their Facebook and on YouTube outlets. The virality of the video sparked the curiosity of the managers of music events. Thus Wind Rose was invited to participate in important metal festivals such as Bloodstock (United Kingdom) and Masters of Rock (Czech Republic).
In January 2018, the band was asked to tour Japan with Ensiferum, and in April and May 2018 they joined the Path to Glory European tour with Ensiferum and Ex Deo. In December 2018, Wind Rose announced a deal with Napalm Records and the recording of a new album. On 6 June 2019 Wind Rose released the first single on Napalm: “Diggy Diggy Hole”, a song originally written and performed by gaming YouTubers The Yogscast. The album Wintersaga was released on 27 September 2019.
On March 8, 2022, the band announced their new album, Warfront, would be released on June 10.

Well my HeadBangers I have to tell you that this was a great find for me. At first I thought they were doing a viking theme but then I found out they love J.R.R. Tolkien, and identify with the Dwarves, really what more could you ask for in a band. I have needed to get back to some heavy folk metal, and
Wind Rose delivers. They even played with FinnTroll, who I saw live in Helsinki. FinnTroll is crazy good if you ever have a chance to see them live, do it!! They do not disappoint. Also on top of everything else, guess who will be playing at:
I cannot believe it. I’m going to try like hell to be there. This band hits all the spots I need in heavy folk metal. Every video is great, check out more on YouTube. Check out their social media, especially FB they are everywhere. Like I said this was such a great find, they really know how to get their message across. I’m adding them to my list of bands to keep and eye on. If I get to Wacken I will definitely get videos.
Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week. Join me next week for another band and another song. In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..
Please feel free to leave me a comment or question, I appreciate it HeadBangers:
