WEEK 189 – KALLFRONT

My HeadBangers welcome from the coldest place in Sweden:

KALLFRONT

“Biter”

“Malström”

Well my HeadBangers what do you think?  I’m so excited about this band, thanks to “Mindistry” last week’s band, he is the one who told me to check them out.   I am so glad he did.  I am stuck on this Band.  The instrumental and vocals are great.  But I have a bio straight from the band and then an interview with Hussni, the vocalist.  So shall we get to it….

In 2019, Hussni and Patrik initiated musical meeting, which two years later, resulted in the creation of “KALLFRONT”.

The singer and songwriter Hussni Mörsare (with a past in Raubtier) began a collaboration with the guitarist and co-composer Patrik Forlund.  Their common goal was the creation of a sound where Hussni’s history as a vocalist in Thrash (you know I love my Thrash) and in the Power Metal genre would meet Patrik’s roots from the Tech-Death world.  Heavy riffs that meet sing-along-friendly melodies in one power-charged and homing missile package.  Bassist Mikael Sandorf (The Duskfall) and drummer Sebastian Lindgren (The Duskfall) was recruited shortly afterward to form part of the hard-hitting rhythm section.  Later Sandorf had to leave the band, so the hunt for a new Bass player started.  Pehr Andersson auditioned, and without hesitation, Kallfront recruited him.

Deeply rooted in the harsh climate of Northern Sweden, which undoubtedly  leaves its ark on its population, the cold existence of the band naturally influences the outcome.  And as Hussni Mörsare sums it up in the debut single bites: “What you see is what you get.”

Genuine, without cosmetic enhancements, Kallfront sets to music and existence in a forgotten margin, where Mörsare’s profound Swedish-language reflections provide lyrical depth and character to the musical discharge.

Kallfront themselves sum up their high-energy and captivation music with these words:

SWEDISH FUCKING METAL!

“Alfa Omega”

OMFG listen to that, I’m tired but their music makes me go non-stop.  Ok now to the interview, as always mine is in blue and Hussni’s is in black.

I am always intrigued with Band names.  Why the pick the name and what it means to them.  Can you tell me how you chose Kallfront?

First off, thanks a million for the kind words and the support!  Right, so the band name came from where we live.  We live in the most northern part of Sweden, and since winters here are cold, we figured, why not Kallfront (Cold Front)  Also, it’s short, punchy, and damn cool to say.

I love that.  Every band usually has a great story behind their name.  What made you and Patrik decide to start Kallfront?  I know you said in the bio that you has a past with Raubtier, did you want to continue a band in your own direction?

Yes, exactly like that.  I’ve always wanted to start my own project, but since there aren’t many people up here that I connect with musically, it just hasn’t been on the radar until now.  Patrik and I have been back and forth about starting something, but we haven’t had the time to take it where it needed to go.  So in 2019, we made one song that sounded awesome; when I think about it, we started doing it in English but felt that it would be cool to try it in Swedish instead.  We both wanted to do something unique, and I think we managed to do that.

Do you or any of the guys have anything you want to add to the blog?

Well, for us it really is a big deal when someone from another country like what we do.  That means the vibe and atmosphere of our music is really there, even though people might no understand our lyrics.  For all the people out there checking this out, spread the word!  Thank again Sandy.

Now let’s meet the rest of the band:

“My Thoughts”

Well my HeadBangers I have so much to say abut this band I don’t know if I can put it all on here.  First they are the nicest bunch and I so want to thank Hussni for working with me on this.  He even translated their bio for me, and also did an interview.  It’s hard to get some bands to even answer back to an email and if they do some are good and some never send anything.  I love the music this band does, it is so high energy and Thrash, I can hear it in there, you know I love it.  The one thing I love about doing this blog is I find the best bands the world has to offer, some we have never heard of.   I would have never found Kallfront if it hadn’t been from Gus, and thank you so much for that.  There is a world out there beyond our borders and I will always bring them here.  When you hear something you have never heard before it can carry you to a place of wonder and that’s what this band has done to me.  Music is always with us through the hard times and the best times.  Enjoy this band, they are on all social media.  Check them out you won’t be disappointed you have my metal word on that.

That’s it for this week my HeadBangers, join me next week for another band and another song.  You never know what I’m going to find.  In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Please feel free to leave me a comment or question, I appreciate it HeadBangers:
