My HeadBangers please welcome the all female Brazilian Death Metal Band:
“CRYPTA”
“I Resign”
“Dark Night Of The Soul”
Crypta was on Hump Day a few weeks back and I was really impressed with this band. One is it’s all female and two, there are only a handful of women that I like as far as their growl vocals. I wanted to bring them back with more info on them and who they are. Let’s look at some bio:
Crypta is a Brazilian death metal band, founded in 2019, by Luana Dametto and Fernanda Lira, and officially announced in May 2020. On guitars, Tainá Bergamaschi and Jéssica di Falchi complete the current line-up.

Luana Dameto (drums)
IT ALL STARTED:
Around May 2019, Luana Dametto and Fernanda Lira founded Crypta, initially aiming it to be just a side project where they could write death metal songs – differently from what they had been doing in their other band. In June of that same year, Dutch guitarist Sonia Anubis (ex-Burning Witches, Cobra Spell) was invited to join the project. With a provisional trio lineup, the band began creating their first songs.
Almost a year later, in April 2020, Brazilian guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi was added to the lineup, consolidating Crypta, finally as a quartet. That same month, Fernanda and Luana left the band Nervosa, and Crypta became their main project, being officially presented publicly the following month.
Shortly after that, Crypta signed their first record deal with Napalm Records, as well as a booking deal with Napalm Events, finished writing their first songs and soon began the pre-production of their debut album.
In January 2021, they gathered in São Paulo, Brazil, to record their first ‘full length’, at Family Mob Studio; “Echoes of the Soul” was recorded in 3 weeks, and it was engineered by Otávio Rissato, produced by Thiago Vakka (Fossilization, Jupiterian), mixed by Arthur Rizk and mastered by Jens Bogren, at Fascination Street Studio. The cover art was painted by Wes Benscoter (Amorphis, Autopsy, Hypocrisy, Kreator, etc…).
Between May and June of 2022, Crypta held a Latin American tour that featured 33 dates in 11 countries and 17 Brazilian states, some of them alongside the bands NervoChaos, Krisiun and Belphegor.
Between the months of July and August – during the European summer – they played 20 dates in 10 countries, even featuring in some of the main festivals on the continent, such as Wacken Open Air (Germany), Extreme Obscene (Czech Republic), among others.
The band is now focused on finishing writing their second album, to be released in 2023.
My Thoughts:
The thing I love about this band, besides the vocals, is the energy they bring to the stage and their music. Just look at them. It’s easy to see they love what they do. They are a young band and to have already played at Wacken, I’m impressed as hell. I’m looking forward to hearing more music from them.
That’s it for this week my HeadBangers. Join me next week for another band and another song. In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..
Please feel free to leave me a comment or question, I appreciate it HeadBangers:
