My HeadBangers please welcome one of Finland’s finest Thrash/Metal Bands, from Jyväskylä, Finland:
LOST SOCIETY
“RIOT”
“AWAKE”
Listen to those vocals, not to mention the instruments. All of this works so good together I could just listen to them all day. Let’s not forget the bass, I love the bass.
See this crowd, this is how most gigs are done in Finland. Most of you know I spent about 6 months there and still have every ticket to every gig I went to. This my HeadBangers is how ALL gigs should be done. The band is closer to the crowd, you can actually see them, and if you are very lucky you might run into a band member outside like we did just talking to other HeadBangers. No fights, no swarming them, just real, I miss it and love it so much. What a walk down memory lane it is for me, there is nothing like it I swear. But I do realize that some bands have been around a very long time and they couldn’t do smaller venues, but I still love it. I just bought their new CD – “If The Sky Came Down”, see I miss my Finnish Bands to the core.
Ok let’s take a look at some bio on these guys:
Formed in 2010, the band participated in the 2012 band contest GBOB (Global Battle of the Bands) organized by Nuclear Blast, eventually winning the contest as the Finnish qualifier, and came to London to perform in the finals. In 2013, they released their debut album Fast Loud Death and received a positive response from the Finnish media. The band toured with Children of Bodom in late 2013. (Miss Alexi so much).
In April 2014, the band released their second studio album, Terror Hungry, which charted at number 6 on the official Finnish charts. Compared to its predecessor, the album had more groove metal-inspired riffs.
In February 2016, the band released their third album, Braindead, which rose to number 3 on the official chart. In relation to their earlier productions, the album is slower and has, on average, longer songs.
The band appeared at the Hartwall Arena on December 7, 2015, alongside Slayer and Anthrax. In early 2016, they toured with American thrash metal band Exodus in European countries including England, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
On February 19, 2020, two days before the release of their fourth album, it was announced that Ossi Paananen would be stepping down as the band’s drummer and would be replaced by former “Santa Cruz” drummer Taz Fagerström. Their fourth album, No Absolution, was released on February 21, 2020. On March 3, 2020, the album reached the Finnish charts landing at number 4.
On May 18, 2022 the band released a new single called 112. The single is part of their fifth album called If the Sky Came Down. The album was released on October 7, 2022.

“MY THOUGHTS”I think anyone who knows me, or follows this blog knows how I feel about my Nordic Bands. I find great bands all over the world and I love them just as much. There’s just something in the Nordic Bands that pulls me back to them everytime. The sound, each nordic country has a different little something in their sound that takes me there. From melodic death metal, folk metal, to the blackest of the black, the list is long. You will find a lot of Finnish bands on the blog, check them out. You may find something you’ve never heard before and become like me, lol if that’s possible.
I could go on forever but I have to stop myself. That’s it for this week. Join me next week for another band and another song. Until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….
Please feel free to leave me a comment or question, I appreciate it HeadBangers:
